The Town of Buena Vista is requesting Proposals from Construction Managers to serve as Construction
Manager at Risk (CMR) to provide the preconstruction and construction services required for the Buena
Vista Town Police Station. The current Buena Vista Police Station facility is inadequate for the current and future operations of the BVPD – see Wold Facilities Needs Assessment for more detail. The Town has entered into a Purchase and Sale Agreement (PSA) to buy the clearspan metal frame building at 38362 County Road 317, Buena Vista, CO 81211. This building is approximately 10,800 gross square
feet with a slab concrete floor and was built in 2001. Originally built as a pre-engineered, clear-span metal frame building, it will require various modifications and upgrades to conform with modern code and classify it as a Risk Category IV building as well as ‘hardening’ of various areas to ensure the proper security and protection for the police department armory, evidence storage, interview rooms, etc. The building has undergone both a programmatic and cursory structural assessment to ensure it is the best
choice for the BVPD. In October 2021 the Buena Vista Board of Trustees formally approved a contract with Reilly Johnson Architecture (RJA) as the lead design firm for the remodel project.

Bonds required.
