Renovations and Additions: Overview of Goals and Objectives: The City plans to expand/renovate the current headquarters facility to accommodate Police functions. To date, the City has completed an analysis of the existing facility, a space needs assessment, and the schematic design phase of the project. Schematic design documents and a geotechnical report are available for reference.

The construction will fulfill one of two schematic designs depicted as options A and B. Option A includes an emergency dispatch center, sallyport, administrative offices, evidence storage and officer training facilities. The emergency dispatch and administrative offices are planned with tornado resistant construction and ballistic rated exterior openings. No prisoner holding or containment facilities will be included.

Conceptually, Design Option A totals approximately 37,000 square feet, segmented into two single-story additions as well as renovations to the existing 14,000 square feet facility. In addition to the main building, the design includes an annex building of approximately 5,000 square feet for storage of vehicles. Site development includes public parking, secured staff parking, and secured emergency generator yard. Design option B represents a reduction in scope relative to option A, allowing for portions of the project to be built at a future time. The specifications for pricing of Option A and Option B are noted on the front page of the Schematic Drawings.
