Davidson County is seeking a qualified firm to provide engineering design, and construction phase services to open a “culvert” because the failure of a pipe system through an embankment on property located on Cunningham Brickyard Road led to upstream flooding as a result of Hurricane Florence and following significant rainfall events since that time. Davidson County is sponsoring flood mitigation work on this site through: 1. United States Department of Agriculture – Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDSA-NRCS) Emergency Watershed Protection Program 2. North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS) 3. Hurricane Florence Recovery Program. The purpose of the project is to reduce the threat of future flooding upstream from this embankment. This project will be utilizing both Federal and State funds. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
