Dallas Airport System, Dallas, TX

Dallas County

Owner Reference: CIZ1935

Bid Date: 10/09/2020 at 01:00pm

The sole entry to Dallas Love Field Airport from major arterial roadways channels through the intersection of Herb Kelleher Way and Mockingbird Lane. Current estimates indicate 68,000 vehicles entering or leaving the airport on average pass through the intersection daily. Much of the landscaping, lighting, and fencing dates back many years and requires updating. The enhancement project will replace and upgrade aesthetics of the streetscape experience for pedestrians and vehicular passengers on Mockingbird Lane between Denton Drive and Lemmon, as well as Herb Kelleher Way from Mockingbird Lane to and around the airport terminal. Scope includes demolition of existing sidewalks, lighting bollards, existing entry sign, existing streetlights; and existing landscaping. Improvements will provide new streetlights; pedestrian crosswalk with signals; sidewalks; installation of electrical transformer and outlets; landscaping and hardscape improvements; entry signage; and coordination with City of Dallas Office of Cultural Affairs’ installation of major public art near the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and Herb Kelleher Way. This project will require continuous coordination with City of Dallas Department of Aviation for safe traffic plans.
