The primary scope of work is to maintain the public health, safety, and well-being of the areas during demolition, as well as to restore the property to open space. Demolition and removal of the entire structure and debris as directed by The District. Asbestos removal in compliance with all State, Federal, and County/Municipal requirements. All demolition removal and disposal must be performed in compliance with State and Federal requirements including proper hazardous material disposal and lead paint and asbestos removal and disposal procedures (as needed). It is the successful contractor’s responsibility to make sure all State, Federal, and local requirements are complied with related to structure demolition and removal, including but not limited to, requirements of the New York State Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency, New York Department of Environmental Conservation, New York Department of Transportation. The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining any site specific variance required to complete the asbestos abatement, including any associated costs. An asbestos pre-demolition survey has been completed and can be found at the end of this document. Protection of all mature trees. o All trees that line the driveway must be protected. An above ground oil tank is located within the basement. The Contractor will be responsible for removing and discarding oil according to NYSDOH regulations, and for removing the tank and disposing of according to NYSDOH regulations. The Contractor will be responsible for coordinating with the appropriate utility companies to properly disconnect all utilities, including the existing connection to water and sewer. The Contractor will be responsible for the following site work after removal: o NYS clean fill must be used to fill in the basement to existing grade and then dressed with top seed. A manifest of the fill is required. Fill needs to be free from organic materials (trees, stumps, asphalt pavement not permitted.) o All disturbed areas are to be graded to match adjacent undisturbed ground elevations. (i.e. fill any holes in the ground caused by the demolition, ruts caused by equipment, hand compaction of fill, flatten out major depressions in the ground or mulch.) Seeding will be required. Bond required. Please refer to documents for wage rate.
