The Newton County Board of Commissioners is requesting competitive Sealed Proposals for design build services associated with retrofit of Emergency Power Systems in the Administrative Building located at 1113 Usher Street, Covington, GA 30014. General Scope of Services: Includes complete CM Pre Construction services; cost management; schedule management; low voltage design coordination, coordination with Newton County’s special inspections / material testing consulting teams; submissions and permitting to all Authorities Having Jurisdiction, including, but not limited to, City of Covington Development Services and Fire Marshall; full Construction Management, Design-Build and Post Construction services. Pre-Construction Phase: (Facility Assessment / Design Services). Design Builder and their team of Architects and Engineers and/or Sub Contractors will complete Facility Assessments of both existing building to determine all necessary improvements to retrofit a new Emergency Power System. Goal is to achieve a better understanding of what improvements will be necessary to support the scope of work. From this effort, the Design Builder will prepare Designs and Engineering and Guaranteed Maximum Prices that will be evaluated against budgets to determine specific scope to be achieved. This will include a complete Scope of work to retrofit the building with a new Emergency Power System. Construction Phase: Design Builder and their team will retrofit the Administrative Building with a complete Emergency Power System in accordance with all Codes and Regulations. Work will be accomplished while building is still in operation so sequencing of work will need to take this into consideration. Questions should be submitted in writing via email to the Owner by November 19, 2021, 12:00pm.
