The City of Tamarac is seeking to engage qualified firms to submit proposals (RFQ’s) for the Design/Build of the Caporella Park Enhancements Project. The proposed project site is approximately a 9.3 acres lot (3.73 acres surface area & 5.57 lakes) located at 5200 Prospect Road, Tamarac, Florida 33321; together with a 1.06 acre parcel located at 2400 NW 53rd Street, Tamarac, FL. (see site map attached herein as Exhibit 1); for a total project site area of approximately 10.36 acres (4.79 acres surface area & 5.57 lakes). The proposed elements include native landscaping on at least 30% of the site, an 6 foot concrete multi-use path with one (1) central covered fitness station (with 10 pieces of equipment), an approximate 1000 SF restroom/storage facility, a 5000 SF playground with maximum number of play equipment including safety surface and shade structure, one (1) large picnic shelter (32 feet hexagonal), benches, grills, water fountains, non-motorized boat launch with floating boat dock, 2500 SF splash pad, expansion of existing on-site parking area, irrigation & landscape improvements, lighting, video surveillance and security system, and fiber network infrastructure; and the development of existing off-site parcels located at 2400 NW 53rd street (City owned parcels, see site map attached herein as Exhibit 1), which shall include a new overflow parking to service proposed park enhancements, with a dedicated Right-of-Way crosswalk and advanced RRFB warning system, security lighting & fencing, pavement markings and signage.
