The project consists of the renovation of existing student bathrooms in Hood Hall and associated Hazardous Material Removals, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, HVAC, and Electrical work. Work in the bathrooms shall consist of complete demolition of all partitions, accessories, tile finishes, ceilings, plumbing fixtures, and serving utilities. Hazardous material abatement and removal shall include but is not limited to gypsum wall board, textured ceiling finishes, exterior foundation waterproofing, and pipe insulation. Student bathrooms will be reconfigured, and new partitions and finishes provided. New interior finishes shall include porcelain ceramic floor and wall tile wood doors, gypsum board ceilings, ACT ceilings, and toilet room accessories. Plumbing work will include replacement of all supply and sanitary risers with branch piping installed to new fixture layout. Mechanical work will include replacement of hot water heat risers located in the bathrooms, replacement of exhaust duct, fans, installation of split system AC, laundry make-up air system, and modifications to the building BMS system. New lighting and power will be provided based on layout. Fire Alarm devices and Fire Protection sprinkler heads will be relocated as required by new plan. One elevator will be renovated at the end of construction. Additional work at Hood Hall includes reconfiguring existing toilet rooms, offices, Resident Director’s Apartment, and laundry rooms. In addition to new partitions, finishes and casework, mechanical, plumbing, fire protections, BMS, fire alarm and electrical systems will be modified to address new work. Moffitt Hall work is limited to the creation of a laundry room within the Resident Director Apartment and installation of a split unit AC system. Sitework is limited to Hood Hall and includes restoration of the site upon construction of new areaway and the installation of a new concrete pad and bike storage shelter.
