Leachate is the wastewater that percolates through the County’s Subtitle D landfills. The County maintains two evaporation ponds and, on occasion, has a need to reduce the volume of leachate to ensure safe and effective operation. The County makes no guarantee for an annual quantity of leachate. This contract is for services on an as needed emergency basis. In the event this service is needed, as determined by the County Project Manager, the County will guarantee a minimum of 1,000,000 gallons of leachate. Historically, the estimated annual amount of leachate is approximately 6,000,000 gallons. The vendor shall haul, treat, and dispose of 39,000 gallons per day minimum when activated.
