The Work is generally described as replacement of approximately 850 linear feet (LF) of 14-inch force main with both 16-inch high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The project will be constructed within the right-of-way of 3rd St W between Manatee Ave W and 8th Ave W. The new force main will primarily be constructed using horizontal directional drilling, with approximately 100 LF of open-cut sections. The project includes connection to existing isolation valves and manholes, installation of air-release valves, and careful coordination of existing utilities in the project area. The existing force main will be grouted and abandoned in place. All Work shall be in accordance with the construction Drawings, Technical Specifications, and Contract Documents.
