The project consists of removal and reconstruction of roadway surface of Mango Street between S. Disston Avenue and Azalea Drive. The proposed activities include sidewalk improvements, roadway widening and the raising of the roadway profile above the 25-year, 24-hour design elevation. Water quality treatment is not required, as the sidewalk and lane widening activities meet exemption criteria of the Southwest Florida Water Management District; however, fill encroachment and new impervious surfaces within this closed basin are to be offset through construction of one new retention pond and the expansion of two existing retentions ponds authorized under permit No. 46027985.002. A bid guarantee in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid amount shall be submitted with each bid. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
