DSU desires to remodel the existing science building for the relocated education department. The desire is to update the look and feel of the space per current DSU building standards. Additional improvements include upgrades for; structural seismic design, mechanical, plumbing electrical and IT design and equipment. Original portion of building built in 1962, abatement work scheduled to be completed prior to general contractor demolition phase. Base work includes 1st floor over 24,000 s.f. Including but not limited to; first floor level remodel, specific rooms identified minimum work. Prior to demolition, contractor to provide structural shoring design and construction. Demolition & Disposal: includes all existing equipment, finishes floors, walls and ceiling finishes, casework & abandoned DSU equipment. This includes gwb ceiling above existing ceiling grid. Selective demo of entire walls and portion of walls. Few slab cut openings over existing air duct tunnels. Exterior windows. Mechanical & plumbing removal basement & first floor and some area’s identified second floor. Few area’s of mechanical equipment removal at First floor roof equipment. Outdoor greenhouse. Installation; new structural shear walls & anchors to existing floor, decking & joists. New steel C channel bracing at selective demo CMU walls and openings. Walls, carpet, ACT ceiling & GWB soffit. Room signage, Doors, windows, casework, project boards & equipment, lighting, mechanical, plumbing and IT equipment.
