The State of California, Department of General Services, Procurement Division (DGS-PD) is issuing this Invitation for Bid (IFB) to cover the requirements of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for Glass Spheres (Beads). The contract resulting from this solicitation will be mandatory for all State of California Departments and available for use by participating local agencies. For the purpose of this solicitation, local government agencies are defined as “any city, county, city and county, district or other local governmental body or corporation empowered to expend public funds for the acquisition of goods, information technology, or services,” reference Public Contract Code (PCC) section 10298 (a) (b) and 10299 (b). Local governmental agencies shall have the same rights and privileges as the State under the terms of these contracts. Any local governmental agencies desiring to participate shall be required to submit to the same responsibilities as do State departments and will have no authority to amend, modify or change any condition of these contracts. The term of any contract resulting from this solicitation will be for three (3) years. The contract will contain two (2) extension options for one (1) year or portion thereof. If a mutual agreement for a contract extension cannot be met, the contract may be terminated at the end of the current contract term and/or contract extension. Term is three years.
