Old Town Hall, 3999 University Drive, Fairfax, VA 22030. For those bidders wishing to examine the crawlspace beneath the portico, access will be made available on December 2, 2021. Bidders interested in seeing the crawlspace shall make an appointment at the pre-bid conference. 45-minute inspection intervals will be provided. During the pre-bid conference interested bidders will be allowed to select a time slot when they can visit the crawlspace on their own. Bring your own flashlight

The intent of this solicitation is to establish a single project contract for Old Town Hall Rehabilitation Phase 1 for the City of Fairfax, VA. The Work consists of the following: 1. Installation of one (1) new wood column with new capital, new wood base, and new cast aluminum plinth. 2. Removal of three (3) existing wood columns followed by storage, repair and reinstallation with new wood bases and cast aluminum plinths. 3. Removal of the existing concrete porch slab at the front portico followed by installation of a new painted tongue and groove wood floor supported by a steel frame. 4. Restoration of the existing stone foundation wall supporting the new steel frame for the porch floor and the column bases at the front portico. 5. Installation of a new wood stairway at the north end of the portico. 6. Removal of the existing concrete steps at the west front of the portico followed by the installation of modified new wood steps with handrails. 7. Reinstallation of the stored existing wood guardrail at the front portico including restoration and modification of some portions. 8. Construction of an ADA-compliant concrete ramp with brick and stone border at the south end of the portico. 9. Miscellaneous repair and restoration of wood trim and wood components at the existing portico. 10. Removal of the existing wood retaining wall and installation of a new concrete retaining wall along the south side of the building. 11. Landscape work including brick sidewalks, stone curbing, and planting. Q&A due by 12/7/21.
