Fairfax County is soliciting pre-bid qualifications for the the Primary and Secondary Sustaining Project 1, located at the Noman M. Cole, Jr. Pollution Control Plant (NCPCP) at 9399 Richmond Highway, Lorton Virginia 22079. The purpose of the Sustaining Project is to repair, rehabilitate and improve aging infrastructure in the Primary and Secondary treatment processes, including implementing a full-scale pilot train for the evaluation of Flexible Biological Nutrient Removal (FlexBNR). The facility handles in excess of 67 million gallons per day (MGD). The General Contract for this project is anticipated to be advertised for bid in September 2021 with bid opening in October 2021. The Contract Award date is projected for December 2021, with an anticipated construction start of January 2022. The overall construction duration is planned to be approximately 48 months. Q&A due 7 days prior to bid. Bonds required.
