The County of Albemarle is soliciting quotations from qualified vendors to perform selective demolition, equipment removal, finish removal, and cleaning of the former J.C. Penney’s at Fashion Square Mall. This space will be fit out for non-emergency use by Albemarle County Fire Department (ACFR) and Albemarle County Police Department (ACPD). This fit out will be phased, and the first phase will require the select demolition as indicated in this RFQ. A hazardous materials investigation was conducted, and some finishes were found asbestos. The details of the investigation can be found in Attachment J and K. The intent is for selective demo work to occur on or about January 19, 2023. Work must be completed within 30 days of NTP. Questions due not later than two (2) days prior to the date set for quotes to close. Bonds required.
