The project to Re-Roof Science Center Buildings SC1 & SC2 includes demolition and disposal of existing built-up roofing membrane, composition repair flashing, base flashing, lead sheet, perlite, tapered insulation, counterflashing and sealants down to existing concrete roof deck and existing penthouse and clerestory metal roof deck. Scrape, grind clean and prepare existing substrate surface prior to receiving new roofing. Provide and install all specified products including but not limited to sealants, insulation board, membrane flashing, sheet metal flashing and accessories.Remove and dispose of existing roof drain strainers and clamps, support blocks, sheet metal flashing, walkways pads, penetration flashing assemblies and sealants in accordance with construction drawings. Contractor to coordinate with District staff and District Facilities to schedule removal of existing damaged domestic hot water tank for repair or replacement. Contractor also will coordinate with Facilities for electrical shutdowns, disconnections, reconnections, and for re-powering equipment upon completion.Clean and prep existing curb flashing and steel beam at water chiller, provide fluid-applied waterproofing accessories at water chiller curb. Remove and dispose of parapet coping at penthouse and clerestory roof. Provide Kynar coated coping system and all necessary components including but not limited to sloped wood blocking, custom cleats for slope, butt plates, fasteners, etc.Remove and dispose of conductor head, downspout and scupper, demolish and dispose of existing cement plaster surrounding scupper and downspout. Provide and install conductor head, downspout and scupper, and repair cement plaster in accordance with construction drawings.Remove and dispose of existing door at penthouse. Provide and replace with door to match existing, repair cement plaster as required to complete door installation.Clean and prepare existing parapet walls and existing penthouse/clerestory walls for elastomeric coating system application. Repair spalls, cracks and similar defects in the existing concrete in accordance with manufacturers requirements. Apply coatings as required. Bonds required. Prevailing wages. Q&A due by 01/20/21 at Noon.
