Vendors are invited to respond for a fixed contract to provide all labor, materials, equipment, services, incidentals and permits required to remove the existing surfacing and resurface the Splash Adventure Activity Pool at Quiet Waters Park. 1.1 Staging can occur in the adjacent parking lot or on the facility deck provided that the contractor repair, at their own expense, any damages they cause to the deck. 1.2 Drain pool. 1.3. Inspect entire surface to be recoated. 1.4. The contractor will be responsible for removal and replacement of the below items: a. All existing surface materials must be completely removed including the existing multiple layers of Diamond Brite, all tiles within the pool area, and areas around poles and water features. b. All surfaces must be taken down to raw concrete/Gunite. c. Saw cuts are required around perimeter tiles to preserve them. d. Any tiles damaged in the preparation process must be replaced with Park-approved replacement tiles. 1.5. Remove all floor flanges from around pipes and water features. 1.6. Apply appropriate bonding primer as per manufacturer’s specifications. 1.7. Install new four-inch (4”) tile in a contrasting color to floor to demark ADA accessible entrances to the pool in two locations. 1.8. Re-grout all tile and drain areas. 1.9. Install Wet-Edge Signature Matrix White pool surfacing or Pebble Tec or approved equal, commercial-grade, non-Diamond Brite surfacing. 1.10. The minimum thickness of the final resurfacing product applied to the pool’s shell shall be not less than three-eighths inch (3/8”) thick. The nominal (average thickness) throughout the entire project shall be one half inch (1/2”). Multiple pictures throughout the surface of the pool will be required to verify depth of surfacing. 1.11. All fixture outlets should be marked or otherwise protected to ensure none are covered and thereby lost in the resurfacing. 1.12. Only “Manufacturer Certified” installers will be accepted. Contractor must have previous experience installing projects of similar size, scope and materials as evidenced by submitted references. 1.13. Contractor must maintain the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) slope compliance regulation at all designated areas.
