Adams County

Owner Reference: 21-409

Bid Date: 12/09/2021 at 07:00pm

Trades: General Engineering Contractor GEC, Architecture and Engineering

The scope includes the design required for bidding and installation of approximately 7,700 linear feet of 21-inch diameter Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) sanitary sewer that will parallel the existing 18-inch Big Dry Creek Interceptor (BDCI). This parallel line will allow for additional capacity in the city of Thornton (Thornton) sanitary sewer Basin H. The Consultant should anticipate designing the entirety of the 21-inch parallel sewer at one time, which will be separated into two (2) phases for two (2) separate bid packages indicated as Phase 1 and Phase 2. The construction will occur over multiple years and be staggered so that Phase 1 will be constructed first, and Phase 2 will be constructed subsequently. It is anticipated that design will occur in 2021 and 2022, Phase 1 will be constructed in 2023, and Phase 2 will be constructed in 2024.
Phase 1 extents begin 500 feet west of the intersection of York Street and East 156th Avenue along the BDCI at Thornton manhole I22012, and ends just south of East 160th Avenue at manhole K23001. Phase 2 extents begin at manhole K23001 and end at manhole L24001, 250 feet west of Colorado Boulevard.  All connections to the existing 18-inch BDCI shall remain in place.
