Rockingham County is seeking a qualified firm to provide engineering design, planning, preparation, and construction phase services for a proposed Indoor Firing Range to be located at 1280 NC Hwy 704, Madison NC (existing site of the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Firing Range). Services may include surveying, design, environmental permitting, consultation, meetings & presentations, and construction related services. The purpose of the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) is to generally describe the work desired by Rockingham County and to invite qualified persons or firms to submit written descriptions of their qualifications and proposed approach for providing that work. The Indoor Firing Range will be an approximate 8000 to 9000 square foot facility that is open to the general public and used to promote firearm safety, safe handling practices for firearms, conceal carry permits, and the enjoyment of citizen’s Second Amendment Rights. Attached you will find one print showing the conceptual design that we believe will work well for the proposed indoor firing range. The public will also be allowed toaccess the existing outdoor range; therefore, some modifications of this area will be included in the scope of work. Design professionals should be familiar with NRA guidelines and best practices for indoor and outdoor ranges.
