The Town of Westford is accepting bids for the roof replacement and vinyl siding / aluminum coverage work at the George P. Rogers Fire Station, 39 Town Farm Road. Roofing Project Demolition: The station currently has a 20-year 3-tab asphalt roof shingle which shall be removed down to the plywood roof sheathing. Remove and re-install 4 radio antennas. Inspect and replace as necessary the Five (5) B-Vent roof flashing and storm collars. Replace the Three (3) roof boots on the 4” cast iron plumbing vents. Replace the Four (4) roof boots and Concentric vent Termination rain caps that are on the 3” PVC HVAC exhaust vents. Inspect and replace the 5/8” plywood roof sheathing as necessary. Please carry an account of 15 sheets of plywood. Roof deck must be clean and free any debris before moving to the application step. Inspect and replace as necessary the flashing where the Cupola meets the roof deck. Replacement of the asphalt shingles on the Cupola shall be included. All construction debris and excess materials must be removed from the site within 3 days of completion of the project. Vinyl Siding: Furnish and install white vinyl siding on the two gable ends of the apparatus bay portion of the building. Siding to be installed over the existing wood siding. The siding shall have a woodgrain finished and be a minimum of 0.042” in thickness. Furnish and install all ancillary trim pieces such as, but not limited to, J-Channel, starter strip, nails etc. Aluminum Trim Coverage: Remove all aluminum Gutters. Furnish and install a white matte finish soffit panel on all soffits and roof rake bump outs around the building. The soffit panels shall be a triple 3-1/3” with invisible venting and have a thickness of .044”. Furnish and install a white aluminum trim coil over all wood trim making up the roof overhang including, but not limited to, the roof rakes, Fascia boards and freeze boards under the soffit and against the brick veneer of the building. This aluminum coverage shall include the exposed wood trim of the Cupola. Re-install the aluminum gutters with the appropriate hidden hangers w/screws ensuring that the hangers are secured into the solid wood of the roof trusses.
