This project proposes the design/build construction of a new 6,400-square foot transfer station building to replace the existing transfer station building on-site. The project also includes construction of a residential convenience center and a compost facility. The existing entrance scale and scale house will remain and continue to be in use after construction of the new building. A second driveway will be constructed for convenience center entrance. A second scale will be constructed inside the tractor trailer loading dock to weigh the tractor trailer trucks before leaving the site. The contractor shall ensure that the existing transfer station operations are uninterrupted during construction of the new transfer station building. The project includes the demolition of the existing transfer station building and grading to design grades shown on the plans after construction of the new transfer station building. The existing conditions at the project site consists of a transfer station building, scale and scale house, storage buildings, paved roadway, graveled parking area, and perimeter fencing with some areas wooded and grassed in the city’s light manufacturing district. If required, Offeror shall supply a bid bond of 5% of the total proposal amount to be submitted with the proposal package. Bonds are required if the contract work is valued at $25,000.00 or more for construction and/or any type of service related requirement.
