Signing Upgrades at Various Locations in Cherokee, Dade and Whitfield Counties. All traffic striping that will be in place for 45 days or less shall be 4 inches or greater in width. In the prosecution of the Work, if it becomes necessary to remove any existing signs, markers, guardrail, etc. not covered by specific pay item, they shall be removed, stored and reinstalled, when directed by the Engineer, to line and grade, and in the same condition as when removed.These warning signs shall be placed in advance of the drop-off. The spacing of the signs shall not exceed one (1) mile and the signs shall be placed immediately past each crossroad intersection. The “Shoulder Drop-Off” signs shall remain in place until the difference in elevation is eliminated and the shoulder has been dressed and permanently grassed for a minimum of thirty (30) calendar days.These signs shall be furnished, installed, maintained, and removed by the Contractor as part of Traffic Control-Lump Sum. These signs shall be black borders on fluorescent orange background. Performance bond in the full penal sum of the Contract and payment bond in an amount equal to 110 percent of the full penal sum of the Contract. The aggregate amount of the bonds shall be 210 percent of the full penal sum of the Contract. This project encouraged MBE/WBE Participation.
