It is the intent of the County of Mercer to enter into a contract for a two (2) year period for the removal of sludge and septage from the Mercer County Correction Center. The work required under this contract involves the carting and removal of an estimated 220,000 gallons of waste activated sludge annually from its wastewater plant located on Route 29 in Hopewell Township to the Stony Brook Regional Sewage Authority located in Princeton Township or a facility approved by the State of New Jersey. The Stony Brook Regional Sewerage Authority shall invoice the county for the disposal of sludge. The work also includes the removal of approximately 30,000 gallons of septage from the lower wet well located on site. The vendor must factor the charges into the bid for removal and disposal of septage. The quantities referenced are estimated; the County shall pay for actual removal and disposal only.
