In accordance with the specifications provided herein, perform snow removal at School District locations, as required, for a period of one (1) year from the bid award. The School District reserves the right to award this bid to multiple contractors as it deems necessary to provide sufficient snow removal coverage at all School District locations. For example, if a contractor is the low bidder for all or some locations, they may not be awarded one or more of the location for which they are the low bidder, if the School District determines that this will not provide sufficient snow removal coverage. The School District’s decision in this regard shall be final. Snow removal will begin within one (1) hour of notification by the School District. In order to coordinate snow removal across all School District locations, snow removal cannot begin until you are contacted by the School District or are notified by School District personnel. However, the Successful Bidder(s) shall attempt to contact the School District’s representatives upon commencement of snow or when a snow fall is anticipated. A prioritized call list, maps, locations, etc. will be provided to the Successful Bidder(s). If the Successful Bidder(s) is not reachable or fails to begin snow removal within one (1) hour following notification by the School District, the School District reserves the right to contract with another contractor to perform the work and any additional cost incurred as a result will be charged to the Successful Bidder(s). On school days, between the hours of 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM, snow removal must begin when snow accumulates three (3) inches or less with a confirming communication from School District personnel. If a communication is not received from the School District, Successful Bidder(s) shall attempt to contact the School District’s representatives. Parking lots, driveways and entrances must be plowed and remain clear of snow. Snow is to be pushed back to expose parking lot curbs. Snow will be pushed as far away as possible from designated parking lanes and areas. Snow piles/banks shall not be placed in such a manner as to block the view from a standard vehicle or block any parking spaces (i.e., entrances and exits. If this does not occur, the School District will charge the Successful Bidder(s) for removing snow from these areas. Following the final clearing of snow from School District roads and curbs, at the School District’s request, the Successful Bidder(s) will apply salt as directed.
