The Project approximately consists of providing fire sprinklers and fire protection systems in one existing building in the base bid scope of work, namely, the Leo F. Cain Library. The Social and Behavior Sciences (SBS) building, will be an alternate, for pricing purposes. The Cain Library is a five-story building built in 1972 and of noncombustible (concrete construction. The building has faculty offices, conference rooms, classrooms, and some student services. The alternative is the SBS building, a three-story building built in 1972, of noncombustible (concrete) construction. The building has classrooms, labs, and faculty offices In the base Bid, the Cain Library shall be provided with a new multiplex, fully addressable fire alarm and detection system including an emergency voice/alarm communication system. The SBS building will be provided with a system as an alternate. Bonds required. Prevailing wages apply.
