Scope of Work: The project scope consists of the following tasks: The proposed work is roadway improvements on Sunland Gin Road between Battaglia Road to the north and Monaco Boulevard to the south approximately 1.6 miles. The project generally consists of roadway and drainage improvements, including removals, grading, asphalt concrete (AC) paving, aggregate base course (ABC), curb and gutter, sidewalk, sidewalk ramps, storm drain pipes, decomposed granite (DG), retention basins, rip-rap, pavement marking and street lights. Most of the existing roadway surface will be completely replaced to its full depth with a new pavement section stabilized by a Geogrid Reinforcement. A portion of the existing roadway surface between Santa Cruz Boulevard and Battaglia Road will be milled and overlayed with new AC pavement. Curb and gutter will be added for the entire length of the project on both sides of the road. A new 8-foot sidewalk will also be constructed with the new improvements on the west side of the road only. Existing side streets and driveways are located frequently along the corridor. All driveway locations will be maintained, and new driveway entrances will be installed to provide access to existing residences and businesses. New roadway grades have been proposed at existing intersections to accommodate the new improvements and facilitate drainage. Existing ditches run the entire length of the project on both side of the Sunland Gin Corridor. At roadways crossings flows typically travel across the pavement surface except for the occasional crossing where an existing culvert has been provided. The proposed drainage improvements include proposed retention basins and new culverts at every roadway or driveway crossing. Riprap spillways, curb openings, and scuppers have also been added to convey onsite and offsite stormwater runoff into the proposed retention/detention areas. All work shall commence within 10 calendar days from the notice to proceed date and be completed within 250 calendar days from the issuance date of the written Notice to Proceed. Deadline for questions is October 15, 2021 by 5:00pm. Bonds
