The purpose of this Invitation to Bid “ITB” is to provide for wind mitigation efforts to reduce potential damage to City of Tampa designated Building. The mitigation measure will involve a hurricane wind retrofit, including structural improvements for the installation of a shutter system for all window and door assemblies. The shutter system shall be engineered for each opening where wind load design was not incorporated into the original design of the buildings envelope. Protection shall be provided on all exterior openings, such as doors, windows, vents, louvers and exhaust fans on the structures. This shall include providing protection against 153 MPH winds or the wind speed protection and impact requirements indicated by the effective Florida Building Code at the time permits are issued. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
