The City of Johns Creek is seeking proposals from qualified firms for the combined services of Traffic Signal Maintenance Services for the Public Works Department. Provide traffic signal maintenance services to traffic signals, school zone flashing beacons, street lights, and miscellaneous flashing beacons or electronically driven traffic control device. Provide site inspections, signal locates and markings underground signal runs and equipment and recommendations for signals on City streets as needed. Hang signs for traffic signals and maintain CCTV cameras. If a traffic signal goes into flash three times or more in 60 days, a complete traffic signal maintenance evaluation of that traffic signal as defined by the City Traffic Department shall be conducted and submitted to the City representative. At the direction of the City representative or a designee, repair or install components of the signal system. This may include, but is not limited to, the detection systems, signal controller, any item in a traffic signal cabinet, span wire, mast arms, signal heads and pedestrian facilities. Contractor shall repair, replace and make known any defective equipment that is in need of repair. Parts that are used to replace malfunctioning devices should be replaced in kind or equivalent. A lesser product than what is currently in service will not be acceptable. In the event that power must be turned off to a cabinet in order to fix any issues the Contractor must notify the City prior to turning power off to the cabinet or prior to putting the signal into flash. Police officers will be required to direct traffic for any signals that are dark. Also, as part of this RFP, any new signals that are installed will become part of this contract once the burn in period is over and the City accepts the signal from the construction Contractor. While in the City completing a task, the Contractor is encouraged to call in additional work while completing assigned tasks so that City Personnel can create a new task order and work can be completed at the intersection. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
