Barrow County Fire Headquarters Station at 222 Pleasant Hill Church Road NE Winder, Ga. 30680.
Purpose: To replace and update existing burn rooms in containers with materials consistent with the following. · Burn rooms shall be constructed using high temperature insulation with a minimum of a 2000 degree Fahrenheit rating. · Insulation shall be enclosed within a frame and covered with a minimum of 11 gauge sheet metal. · All metal used in burn room shall be American steel. Welds and door metal shall be drilled and plug welded to insure durability of walls under high temperature conditions. · All wood shall be removed from container and covered with a minimum 11 gauge metal and a layer of 1’ square common paver bricks. · Chain shall be used on the walls and ceilings to hold commons sheet lumber. · Chain shall be minimum 5/16”. Side walls and ceiling shall easily accept full sheets of 4x8 of sheet lumber without requiring any cuts or notching. · A cable controlled vent system shall be re-installed at the edge of the insulation exterior of the burn room. · Interior doors shall be installed on burn rooms to simulate a closed or open door concept, doors shall be constructed of heavy gauge steel capable of withstanding high heat conditions. · Interior Doors shall be able to be locked, open and shut freely utilizing a closing mechanism. · One exterior door shall be installed on the first floor burn room, capable of withstanding high heat conditions. · One exterior burn room window shall be installed in both burn rooms, constructed of materials consistent with door materials and capable of withstanding high heat conditions. · Exterior doors and windows shall be able to open and close freely and be able to be locked into positions of open and closed. · To add a set of exterior stairs to existing burn building. · Stairs should extend from ground level to the fourth floor with access to every floor utilizing existing container doors. · Platforms are to be installed on every floor with stairs. · Stairs should be constructed of steel and painted. Stairs should be built to customer’s photos and vision.
