The University of North Carolina at Wilmington (UNCW) is soliciting proposals from vendors that can provide recreational field lighting that meets the National Collegiate Athletic Association (“NCAA”) lighting standards. UNCW is building a new recreation field that will support sporting events such as soccer (50 foot candles), tennis (75 foot candles), sand volleyball (80 foot candles) and basketball (50 foot candles). Contractor must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience providing and installing sporting event lighting. New steel lighting poles installed to withstand 150 mph winds; Provide energy efficient LED lighting that meets collegiate recreational lighting standards; UL Certified lighting systems; On-site Lighting control systems for on/off control; Remote lighting control systems for on/off control and dimming; Provide an assigned Project Manager to coordinate services with the University and their construction contractor; and Provide 24/7 customer support for lighting systems. Installation of the Lighting Systems is projected to take place during Phase 1 and Phase 3 of the project.
