This is for pre-Qual for this project.Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) will be soliciting bids for the US 101/De La Cruz Boulevard/Trimble Road Improvements (Project).The Project will consist of reconstruction of the existing three-quadrant cloverleaf interchange to a Type L-9 partial cloverleaf interchange, and would include the following elements:Reconstruction of the existing De La Cruz Boulevard Bridge Overcrossing (OC) from a four-lane to eight-lane facility, which includes right-turn only lanes to the northbound and southbound loop on-ramps. Reconstruction would use precast, prestressed i-girders to reduce structure depth, to provide standard vertical clearance over U.S. 101 and to allow for construction under the air space restriction of the adjacent San Jose International Airport.Modification of the existing De La Cruz Boulevard to provide an additional through lane in each direction from Trimble Road to Central Expressway. Reconstruction of the U.S. 101 northbound on-ramp from De La Cruz Boulevard to provide improve accommodations for bicycles and pedestrians. Modification of the northbound loop on-ramp from De La Cruz Boulevard to accommodate the widening of the bridge overcrossing.Modification of the southbound loop on-ramp from De La Cruz Boulevard to accommodate the widening of the bridge overcrossing.Installation of a new intersection at the terminus of the U.S. 101 southbound off-ramp at De La Cruz Boulevard. Modifications to the southbound on-ramp from De La Cruz Boulevard to improve vehicular operations. Elimination of the southbound loop off-ramp to De La Cruz Blvd. Replacement of ramp metering systems and HOV preferential lanes at the northbound diagonal and loop on-ramp and the southbound diagonal on-ramp. The southbound loop on-ramp will include a ramp meter but will not include HOV preferential lanes. Modification to the intersection of De La Cruz Boulevard and Trimble Road to improve operations and accommodations for bicycles and pedestrians.Reconstruction of the intersection of De La Cruz Boulevard and Central Expressway to improve operations and accommodations for bicycles and pedestrians.Installation of low height roadway and ramp safety lighting and signing in compliance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) glide slope clearance requirements. Construction of a two-way Class IV bikeway along the north side of Trimble Road and a one-way Class IV bicycle lane on the south side of Trimble Road from the Trimble Road / De La Cruz Boulevard / Seaboard Avenue to the Guadalupe River Trail. Construction of a Class I bicycle / pedestrian path on the north side of De La Cruz Boulevard on a separate alignment and profile to cross under the southbound off-ramp and under the southbound loop on-ramp, with two undercrossing structures for the Class I bicycle/pedestrian path. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
