The City of Cape Coral is in the process of modifying canal facilities to optimize Canal levels. This includes the installation of a new control structure (Weir #7) on Courtney Canal, Cape Coral 33914. Coordinates 26.578459-81.9857989. The weir is located along the 400 block of Mohawk Parkway, between 5th Avenue and 5th Place. The existing drainage facilities at this location includes two (2) approximately 60"-inch pipe crossings that have been identified as partially blocked, in need of rehabilitation. Additional control structures below Pine Island Road are also needed in order to control heavy rainy season flows so adjustable motorized gates with SCADA control are planned as a part of this effort. The scope includes but is not limited to modeling, surveying, geotechnical investigation, engineering, design plans preparation, and permitting. The project shall be designed to provide protection against a 100-year storm event. Activities shall be completed in strict compliance with Federal, State and Local applicable laws, rules and regulations.
