Work of the Project includes improvements to the City’s Well No. 8 & Well No. 31. The Contractor will mobilize and perform a pump test to determine well capacity, static water level, and pumping water level. Contractor shall pull the pump and perform a preliminary video inspection of the well; well casing & screens are to be cleaned, post cleaning video inspection completed, and pump and motor upgrades performed to meet required duty conditions. Existing pump base will be demolished and reconstructed to meet Georgia EPD minimum standards and discharge piping, valves, fittings, etc. will be replaced to match up to new pump discharge head elevation as detailed in the plans. Electrical and control improvements will also be made as detailed in the plans. Re-built pump motors will be provided by the Owner for installation by the Contractor. The Owner will also provide flow meter for Well No. 31, air release valves for both wells, the Lakos Sand Separator with flush valve for installation at Well No. 31, and reduced voltage soft starters for each well. All other materials shall be provided by Contractor. Once all improvements have been completed the Contractor will be responsible for performance testing, disinfection, sampling, and laboratory testing necessary to place the well back in service. Bid bond must be present for bid to be read or considered.
