Description

The City of Dania Beach is soliciting bids for wind mitigation upgrades at Fire-Rescue Station No. 1, located at 116 West Dania Beach Blvd. The project includes structural retrofits and modifications to comply with current hurricane-resistant standards. The project includes, but is not limited to: A. Civil 1. Restore sidewalks, green areas, pavement markings and pavement after installing new conduits for new generator B. Structural 1. Perform repair work to the Fire Station No. 1 to meet wind mitigation requirements. 2. Structural work includes: replacement of doors, roll-up doors and roof; removal of existing roof hatch and close opening. 3. Installation of new roof access ladder. 4. Pour new concrete slab for new generator 5. Removal of some louvers and double door and close opening with CMU wall. 6. Replacement of louvers. C. Electrical 1. Removal of existing 80 kW gas generator. 2. Installation of new 250 kW emergency diesel generator unit with a 187 mph enclosure. 3. Removal of existing transfer switch. 4. Installation of new transfer switch purchased by the City 5. Removal existing generator annunciator. 6. Installation of new generator annunciator purchased by the City. 7 Installation of underground conduits and splices 8. Installation of grounding system. D. UTILITY COORDINATION (FPL) o The Contractor shall include all costs and coordination required for Florida Power & Light (FPL) activities, including but not limited to: Required inspections Temporary power disconnects Service reconnections o The Contractor shall coordinate all work directly with FPL and comply with their requirements. E. TESTING AND QUALITY CONTROL o The Contractor shall provide concrete cylinder testing for all structural concrete work associated with the project. o The Contractor shall also perform soil density test for: o Subgrade and base preparation for concrete slabs o Wall footing areas Envelope wall foundation areas (if applicable) F. UNDERGROUND UTILITIES VERIFICATION o Prior to construction, the Contractor shall perform underground utility locating and tracing to verify the location of all existing utilities. o The Contractor shall be responsible for field verification and protection of existing utilities during construction. G. FIRE ALARM SYSTEM INTEGRATION o The new generator system shall be fully integrated with the existing fire alarm system. o Scope shall include all required wiring, devices, controls, programming, and coordination necessary for proper system operation. H. HVAC CONTROL REQUIREMENTS o The Contractor shall provide and install air conditioning delay timers to ensure proper load management during generator operation. o Integration and sequencing with existing HVAC systems shall be included in the scope. I. CRANE OPERATIONS AND GENERATOR HANDLING o The Contractor shall include all costs associated with crane rental, mobilization, demobilization, permits, and rigging required for generator handling operations. o Scope shall include: Removal of the existing generator and relocation to a designated City of Dania Beach (CDB) trailer/storage area Coordination of all lifting operations, including required permits and safety measures Mobilization of crane equipment for placement of the new generator once the concrete slab are completed and ready o All operations shall comply with applicable safety regulations and site constraints.
