The intent of this project is to repair, maintain, upgrade and occasionally construct traffic signals, flashing beacons, roadway lighting, Intelligent Transportation System devices, fiber optic cable, and other electrical services that are requested at the locations described in a Work Order from the Department of Transportation. The Department reserves the right to perform any repairs with its own forces. This project will provide operable and properly maintained traffic signals, flashing beacons, highway lighting and intelligent transportation system components in Region 3/District 5. The work to be done under this contract will primarily be performed in the counties of Champaign, Douglas, Edgar and Vermilion in their entirety including the urbanized areas of Bloomington and Normal. In unusual or emergency circumstances, the Contractor may be required to perform work throughout the entirety of District 5 including the counties of DeWitt, McLean and Piatt. In such unusual circumstances, travel time will be allowed for work outside of the primary contract area. Prevailing wages.
