The work so be performed generally includes modernization of ten passenger and/or service elevators in four buildings, namely, Health and Social Services, Watts, Hall of Justice and County Office Building. Each elevator is being modernized by retaining certain existing components while fully replacing other. Elevator work is covered by the Vertical Tranportation contract while General Construction, HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical scope of work includes work associated with upgrading existing elevator machine rooms and other components to contemporary standards and codes. Five contracts may come from this bid request: Contract No. 1: General Construction (Inc. Asbestos Abatement) Contract No. 2: Vertical Transportation (Elevator) Contract No. 3: Electrical Construction (Inc. Data, Communication & Security) Contract No. 4: HVAC Construction Contract No. 5: Plumbing Construction (Inc. Fire Protection) Addendum No 2 extended bid opening to 2/26. MBE Goal: 12%. WBE Goal: 3%. SDVOB Goal 6%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
