The Town of Ashland, Virginia, invites artists or artist teams to submit proposals for the design, fabrication, and installation of functional public artwork at the northern trailhead of the Fall Line Trail. This project is a collaboration between the Ashland Parks & Recreation Committee and the Public Art Commission. The selected piece will serve as both seating and signage, while embodying the themes of Ashland’s identity and the Fall Line Trail. The functional artwork will: •Serve as a seating area and trailhead signage. •Reflect Ashland’s cycling culture, outdoor recreation, and small-town character. •Be constructed of durable, weather-resistant materials suitable for outdoor installation. •Require minimal maintenance. •Enhance the aesthetics and functionality of the trailhead.
