Work will consist of modifying 21 existing traffic signals, approximately 91 signal poles, junction boxes, pole / base mounted cabinets, ADA ramps, pedestrian accommodations, and conduit. Shrubby and tree trimming will be needed at I/S #8, 9, 13, 15, and 16. The area of disturbance will be very minimal, with only a few square feet per intersection. All disturbed areas will be stabilized with seed, mulch, stone, or concrete. All work will be within the existing right of way. There will be no work below OHW. SHPO letter of 9/2/2020 states curb cuts will have no adverse effect on cultural resources as long as they adhere to All of the following stipulations: (1) curb cuts will be installed in existing sidewalks, (2) curb cuts will be installed within existing R/W, (3) curb cuts will be confined to previously disturbed areas, per the 2015 PA; (4) the curb cuts will neither remove nor disturb any brick or stone material that is 45 years or older, (5) the curb cuts will neither remove nor disturb any concrete sidewalk material that is 45 years or older and has any known or demonstrable association with events or individuals who have made significant contributions to the broad patterns of our nation or state's history (such as WPA markings, etc.), (6) curb cuts will require no installation of new appurtenances that will rise more than 6" above the current grade of the existing sidewalks, and (7) curb cut installation will require no tree removal. If any of the following stipulations cannot be met, the project will need to be resubmitted to DSN for SHPO. DBE goal 7%. Bonds required. Prevailing wages.
