The project includes the demolition of the existing Memorial Field Stadium (previously completed by the City) and related site appurtenances and redevelopment with a synthetic turf multi-sport athletic field, grandstands for approximately 3,900 spectators, an all-weather 8-lane running track with field events, renovated tennis courts, skate park, additional facilities including a ticket booth, concession stand, restrooms, a press box, fencing, landscaping and site appurtenances, entry plaza, open space, and associated utility infrastructure. The intended use of the park will remain the same and it is anticipated that the new facility will provide cleaner and safer grounds for community recreation, allowing the park to return to its original function as a municipal sports and recreation facility. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
