The Scope of Work relates to the following Project: 2020 SPLOST Milling and Resurfacing of Various Streets in Commission Districts 3 & 4 for Clayton County, Georgia. This project will consist of the following Pavement milling and patching. Overlaying the existing pavement and replacement of existing pavement markings. Patching of the pavement will be accomplished following the milling when required. The CEI will identify the limits of the pavement patching following the sweeping of the milled surface if milling is specified. The depth of the patch shall be a minimum of two inches (2”) and could be up to eight inches (8”) depending on the conditions of the existing base structure. The depth will be determined by the CEI at the time of the removal of the additional pavement. The removal of the additional pavement/base may be accomplished by milling. If milling is used for the removal of the material in the area to be patched, the cost for the milling should be included in the bid price for pavement patching (per ton). When the patching extends through the existing asphalt layer into the base layer, then the remaining base will be compacted in accordance with specifications. Cost for base/subgrade compaction shall be included in the bid price of the patching. Payment for the milling involved in the area to be patched shall be included in the price per ton of asphalt used in the patched area. There are two pay items for this work. One is for depth of 19mm asphalt up to 4” the second one is for a depth of 19mm from 4” to 8”. The successful Bidder shall give a Contract Bid Bond, Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, post a Bid Bond of five percent (5%) of the bid price, a Payment Bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid price and a Performance Bond of one hundred percent (100%) of the bid price, for the use of all persons doing work or furnishing skills, tools, machinery, or materials under or for the purpose of the resulting Contract, in accordance with the applicable provisions of Georgia state law, including but not limited to O.C.G.A. § 13-10-1 and § 36-91-21 et seq. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
