Western Carolina University is soliciting qualifications for design advance planning and programming services for the existing Moore Building located its campus in Cullowhee, NC. Moore Building was originally constructed in 1922 as a residential dormitory for women. It consists of 54,750 gross square foot, 3 story structure and is the earliest remaining structure on campus. The building has been mostly vacant and underutilized since the opening of the Health and Human Science Building in 2011. This project requires a complete interior renovation, demolishing the spaces back to structure and a complete replacement of the mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems, as well as a new ADA access/entry. The building is critical to the preservation of the university's historical precinct and will provide much needed academic, classroom, and office space as our campus continues to grow.
