The work to be done consists of the following generally described items: Upgrade the existing two 72” RCP culverts under Sunset Blvd to two 10x6’ box culverts. The length of the proposed double box culvert is 64 linear feet. The precast box culvert must utilize a “water tight” ASTM C1677 joint in lieu of the “soil tight” ASTM C990 joint that has typically been utilized locally. The double box will be supported on a geotextile and 12 inches of #57 stone. The project will also include cast-in-place wingwalls and aprons. 32 LF of 30 inch RCP will be replaced. Both the 30” RCP and a 36” CMP will discharge through the wingwalls. Approx. 130 LF of sand driveway going into the park will be slightly realigned and graveled. The project will also include removal, repair and replacement of chainlink fence, installation of 122 LF of timber guardrail, a new vehicle barrier gate and 70 LF of 3 rail wooden fence. Cast-inPlace concrete includes the demolition and replacement of sidewalks and curb and the new construction of driveway aprons. Water and sanitary systems will not be impacted. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond on the form included hereto and shall be secured by a surety company, certified check or cashier's check in an amount equal to at least 5% of the amount of the bid. A contract performance and payment bond each in the amount of 100% of the contract amount will be required of the successful bidder. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
