Notice is hereby given that the County of Kings has determined that the pre qualification process for all bidders interested in bidding on the SB 81 remodel of the Kings County Branch Jail into the Kings County Juvenile Center and Juvenile Day Reporting Center as a General Contractor must be pre qualified prior to submitting a bid on the Project. The Project is a $9.5 million remodel and expansion project of the existing County’s Branch Jail Facility into the County’s Juvenile Center and Juvenile Day Reporting Center (modular building). The facility being remodeled and expanded is in the city of Hanford on county-owned land. The new construction will create housing, program space, office space, and will include a day reporting center. The project will include approximately 56 beds, with classroom space, medical and programming space, a new vehicle sally port, a booking and intake control room, outdoor recreation, warming kitchen and yard areas. This project will also include, but is not limited to, electrical; plumbing; mechanical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning; security; and fire protection systems, and all other necessary appurtenances.
