The Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, and equipment necessary to perform all services for the application of an asphalt-rejuvenating agent to asphaltic concrete surfaces at various locations throughout the Town of Cary. The draft street listing for application is included in this RFP as Appendix B and includes 398,494 SY of asphalt rejuvenating application. The Town reserves the right to add or delete street segments from the street list at its discretion. The Town shall determine its final street listing post selection. The rejuvenation of surface roads shall be by spray application of a cationic rejuvenating agent composed of petroleum oils and resins emulsified with water. All work shall be in accordance with the specifications, the applicable drawings, and subject to the terms and specifications conditions of the contract. Reclamite® Asphalt Rejuvenating Agent (produced by Golden Bear Preservation Products) or an approved alternative rejuvenating agent will be applied in a manner and rate consistent with the manufacturer’s recommendations. Sand will be utilized per manufacturer recommendations to increase friction and reduce tracking regardless of posted speeds. Excess sand shall be removed within 48 hours utilizing a regenerative air or vacuum sweeper. Broom sweepers will not be allowed. The roadway will be deemed clean at the discretion of the Engineer. The Contractor is responsible for masking any existing pavement markings and removing the masking when work is complete. There will be no separate payment for masking. A traffic control plan must be submitted to and approved by the Town prior to begin of work. Payment shall be made under the contract unit price bid per square yard for “Rejuvenator” satisfactorily applied. Asphalt surface rejuvenation shall meet the requirements of the specifications included in Appendix A. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
