Shaw University Tupper Memorial Hall 841 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh NC
The use of the Tupper Hall Memorial building will remain. The rehabilitation project will commence in March of 2020, and must be completed by August of 2020, or such a time as determined by the University administration. For this project, the successful project management professional (the Contractor) will be responsible for working with Shaw University to develop a project design and perform rehabilitation of the Shaw Main Campus location. Shaw University request proposals from external contractors to provide Construction Project Management services for a grant funded project. Shaw University has received a Historic Preservation grant from the U.S. Department of Interior National Park Service to complete the following scope of work: Provide an elevator at Tupper Memorial Hall's south side connected to all three levels of the building while at the same time providing egress that meets current codes, possibly by adding a compatible core structure housing both the stair and elevator. Implement a complete review and upgrading of Tupper Memorial Hall's current fire alarm system to bring it up to current code standards. Completely renovate and reconfigure Tupper Memorial restrooms to meet accessibility standards. Implement a complete review and upgrading of Estey Hall's current fire alarm system to bring it up to current code standards. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
