The purpose of the project is to provide street and drainage improvements for Robinson Avenue from Piedmont Drive to Virginia Street. The improvements consist of providing new asphalt, sidewalks, curb, parkway, landscaping, irrigation, illumination and drainage. Demolition: Existing asphaltic pavement, base, subgrade material, curb and gutter, sidewalks, driveways, miscellaneous concrete, abandonment of existing water and sewer infrastructure, landscape, parkways, clearing and grubbing, traffic signs and guardrails. Roadway Improvements: Concrete pavement, moisture conditioned compacted suitable subgrade, standard curb and gutter, city monuments, ADA compliant sidewalks, ADA compliant wheelchair ramps, reinforced concrete driveways, landscape to include trees, gravel median with weed barrier and irrigation system, storm water system, stormwater drainage inlets, traffic signs, pavement markings and street lighting. The work will require establishing traffic and erosion control measures. Stormwater Improvements;The work shall include the installation of reinforced concrete pipes, inlet structures, concrete manholes and a gabion spillway. Clearing, grubbing, earthwork, and hauling of debris and excess materials. The work under this contract shall be for furnishing all labor, materials, equipment, transportation, incidentals and services for the construction and installation of the work and as specified on the project plans and specifications.BASE BID 2: WATER IMPROVEMENTS The Contractor may begin work immediately after receipt of the City of El Paso's written Notice to Proceed.The work shall include the following:The Water work for ROBINSON AVENUE STREET AND DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS PHASE II consists of the installation of approximately 2060 LF of 8-Inch C900 PVC (Blue) Pipe and 25 LF of 6-Inch C900 PVC (Blue) Pipe (by open-cut methods), replacement and reconnection of water services, removal and disposal of existing water facilities, fire hydrants, fittings, and all necessary appurtenances for the completed main or structure, including approximately 2045 LF of Trench Safety System. The Contractor shall satisfy himself before commencing work as to the meaning or correctness of all horizontal control points and benchmarks, and no claim of inaccuracy will be considered, unless the Contractor notified the Engineer thereof in writing at least fourteen (14) days before commencing the work. The Contractor will be held responsible for preservation of all control points and benchmarks in their positions. In case any of them are lost or destroyed, all expense incurred by the Owner in replacing them shall be charged against the Contractor and paid for by him before the completion and final acceptance of the work.Q&A due by 05/15/19.
