The Engineering Department is currently requesting professional services to perform concept and design engineering services for widening and realignment of Skinner Mill Road (between Boy Scout Rd. and Walton Way Extension). It is two lanes (one lane in each direction) with roadside ditches. Surrounding land use is mixed land use; residential, professional and commercial. There are several apartment complexes off this road and school buses uses road as student pick up and drop off points. Road also provide connectivity between Washington Road and Walton Way Extension and I-520. This project would benefit the public by improving roadway safety by resurfacing and reconstructing, and improving road drainage. The project will improve pedestrian safety with new high visibility crosswalks and providing Bicycle lane or multiuse path. New street trees will be provided, where possible, to enhance pedestrian use and improvement roadway aesthetics. The total project length is approximately 2.4 miles. Project is primarily funded by local funding sources.
