The project consists of replacing the existing three span, two-girder structure crossing of South Shore Road over the Oswegatchie River in the Town of Fine. The proposed superstructure will consist of a Continuous two span, multiple steel girders with a composite concrete deck system. The superstructure will be supported on cast-in-place pier and abutments with the end abutment founded on micropiles designed by the contractor. Approximately 900 linear feet of the approach work will be reconstructed/rehabilitated as part of the project. The work on the approach roadway includes full depth reconstruction, milling and overlay and guide rail installation. Traffic will be maintained on site using a temporary bridge immediately to the west of the current structure. This project encouraged MBE/WBE participation.
