Work under this contract consists of the milling and inlaying of State Route 257. The project limits for this work is in Dooly County starting at MP 0.00 to MP 7.3 at the Wilcox County Line, MP 0.00 at the Wilcox County line to MP 1.00, and MP 0.00 at the Pulaski County line to MP 9.25 at SR 27. Contractor shall furnish all other labor, materials, equipment, means of transportation, traffic control and incidentals necessary to perform work. This contract shall be bid Lump Sum. All locations are to be milled to a depth of six (6) inches and inlayed with six (6) inches of RECYCLED ASPH 19 MM SUPERPAVE, GP 1 OR 2, INCL POLYMER-MODIFIED BITUM MATL & H LIME. The asphalt shall be placed in (2) two lifts. Each location shall be overlaid with 125 pounds per square yard of Recycled ASPH CONC 9.5 MM Superpave, Type I, GP 1 or Blend 1, INCL Bitum Matl & H Lime as well as the lane in the opposite direction. The Contractor shall haul the milling to the Pulaski County DOT Maintenance headquarters located at (32°16'55.0"N 83°26'35.0"W) 199 Eastman Highway, Hawkinsville, Georgia, 31036. The Contractor shall be responsible for the removal and disposal of all asphalt debris. All existing traffic striping and markings shall be replaced with like kind as per section 652 (High Build) and/ or 653 (Thermoplastic) of the Standard Specifications and should be included in the Bid. If striping cannot be completed at the completion of the asphaltic concrete overlay then temporary traffic markings shall be used according to Section 150, until the permanent striping can be applied per Section 150. Contractor shall also reinstall any RPMs affected by the work. The Contractor shall be responsible for the repair/ reinstallation of all traffic loops damaged during the construction project. All signals shall be in proper working order before the opening of the roadway each morning. At any time during the milling process if an area is discovered to need more than what is required in this contract, the Contractor shall proceed with the mill and inlay of six (6) inches, mark, and notify the Department of the areas. . The Contractor shall notify the Thomaston District Office at 706-646-7521, forty-eight hours prior to beginning work and shall coordinate with other construction or utility companies working in the area. Contractor must submit a bid bond or proposal guaranty for each bid submitted to the Department. Bid bonds or proposal guarantees not received by the Department before the due/close date and time will not be accepted and bid rejected.
